You’ll find our cemetery grounds as fascinating as they are beautiful. We are located adjacent to the Royal Mausoleum at Mauna Ala, completed in 1865 for the interment of Kings and Chiefs.
According to legend, Mauna Ala was the battleground when King Kamekameha I invaded Oahu. It was King Kamehameha IV who decreed in 1860 that a Royal Cemetery be established in the Lower Nuuanu Valley, and Mauna Ala was chosen.
